The Problem Defined
Team D-Flex has been assigned the task of designing a low profile oil deflector for a high speed generator rotor.  The need for redesign is based on the space limitation for the addition of coils in order to achieve a higher power output.  The desired outcome from the redesign is an oil deflector that is at least an eighth inch smaller in the radial dimension with no loss in performance.  With this in mind our goal is to maximize the power production of the rotating generator assembly by designing a more compact oil deflector that still allows for proper distribution of the cooling oil.
